I'm a mom sharing what I've learned and what I do to manage my own blood sugar. I'm not a doctor. Please read this before you use anything on this site.
Medical disclaimer
This is not medical advice. This is my story. Everything on bloodsugarmom.com, in my emails, guides, cheat sheet, social media, and any future courses or coaching, is for educational and informational purposes only. It is based on my personal experience and my own reading.
I am not a doctor, nurse, dietitian, nutritionist, or certified diabetes educator. Nothing I share is meant to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, or to replace advice from your own healthcare team. Using this site does not create a doctor-patient or any other healthcare relationship between us.
Always talk to your doctor before you change your diet, exercise, supplements, or medication, and never stop or change prescribed medication on your own. This matters a lot if you take insulin or other glucose-lowering medicine: eating fewer carbs or moving more can make your blood sugar drop too low (hypoglycemia), and your doses may need adjusting.
If you think you're having a medical emergency, call 112 in Denmark and the EU, 911 in the US, or your local emergency number right away.
If you're pregnant
Gestational diabetes needs to be managed together with your midwife, doctor, or diabetes clinic. What worked for me in my pregnancies may not be right for you or your baby. Please don't cut out foods, start a new diet, or take supplements during pregnancy without checking with them first.
Your results will be your own
When I share my numbers, my weight, or what happened in my pregnancies, that's my experience. Bodies are different, and I can't promise you'll get the same results. Any stories or results from readers that I share are their own experiences, not typical or guaranteed results.
I write blood sugar numbers in mmol/L, the unit used in Denmark and most of Europe. If your meter shows mg/dL, multiply mmol/L by 18 to compare (for example, 7.0 mmol/L is about 126 mg/dL).
Affiliate links
Some links on this site and in my emails are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It helps keep this site running.
I only recommend products I use myself or truly believe in. When a link is an affiliate link, I'll say so in the post, close to the link. I don't get paid for good reviews, and a commission never decides what I recommend.
Supplements and food products I mention are not evaluated or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other authority to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Check with your doctor before taking any supplement, especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or take medication.
My own products
I sell my own digital guides, like recipe collections and guides to the dawn phenomenon and supplements. They're educational, just like the rest of this site, and the same medical disclaimer applies to them. You can read how buying works on my Terms & Conditions page.
Courses and coaching
In the future I may offer courses and coaching. I'll be your guide as a mom who has been there, not a medical professional. Courses and coaching don't replace care from your doctor, and you stay responsible for your own health decisions.
Accuracy and links to other sites
I do my best to keep things accurate and up to date, but research changes and I can make mistakes. If you spot something wrong, please tell me.
I link to other websites, like national diabetes associations, that I think are helpful. I'm not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
By using this site, you agree that you use the information at your own risk and that I'm not liable for any decisions you make based on it, to the extent the law allows.
